Gynaec consultation before marriage {Bridal Files}

Swati · June 11, 2013 · 4 Comments

I am reviving the bridal files after a long hiatus. As I have earlier also explained, writing about something which I have never been through does not really come easy to me. Now, how did this come?

One of my colleague is getting married soon and we were just discussing about the various issues involved in a relationship. So, there are a few points I thought would be good if everyone knows about them.

Pre-poning or Post-poning of Periods

Well, having periods around the D-day is most inconvenient, not to mention it is forbidden to sit in pujas at that time! So, always keep a track of your periods during that time.
Also, if they are by any chance falling around the same time, better consult a gyneac on how to postpone or prepone them. I would suggest preponing so that you are over with them when the actual ceremonies start.

How to avoid conception?
Well, this can be done before or after marriage. But, if you are sure you do not want to conceive right away, it is always good to consult a gyneac to know the ways of avoiding the errors. I would suggest the couple to go together!
Medical Test before Marriage
This is something I have discussed long before. Getting a thorough checkup of the reproductive system done beforehand for both bride and groom would avoid a lot of unfortunate events in the later life.
These are a few pointers right now in my mind. Please feel free to add more to them. I know this might sound very obvious or you might die with embarrassment just thinking about the idea of discussing these issues with the prospective groom or bride but it is practical and its always good to be aware.
What do you think? Should one go for such consultations or not?

How often do you change your bedsheets or pillow covers? {Your Opinion}

Swati · January 1, 2013 · 32 Comments

My answer to the question is preferably once in a week at least. But, my mom changes the entire bed linen every three days diligently!! I make it a weekly excuse saying I live alone but I do pass on for a month or two sometimes as well.
This ensures hygiene for one. If you have oily and acne prone skin, using same pillow everyday might result in breakouts so changing the pillow covers once in two days might help with controlling the breakouts. And, also, for hair, clean bed covers help to control dandruff and keep oily hair clean.
Also, if you might have noticed, the day you spread freshly washed bed linen, you get a good night’s sleep. You feel fresh when you get into the bed. Also, the room looks dirty and unclean if the linen has not been changed for long.
Oh and if you are down, you have to for sure change them after you are UP πŸ˜€ So, its a good practice to get the bed clothes washed at least twice a week. That’s on my next to-do list πŸ™‚
So, how often do you change the covers?

How do you feel when you are down? {Women Stuff}

Swati · May 20, 2012 · 38 Comments

I feel wretched. Not only my hormones but my emotions start playing up on me too. I feel like crying all the day, I am moody, I feel all drained up as if I have no ounce of energy left in my body. I hate everything and fight unnecessarily. I shout on my parents. Yes, I am a bad daughter πŸ™
Even before I get them, a day or two, I am mentally pretty disturbed. My hormones start going wayward and with it my moods go through so many ups and downs that it takes me around a week to get into proper order. I do not feel inclined to do anything and I get extremely withdrawn from the world itself πŸ˜€

Update: I watched ‘Pyar Ka Panchnama’ today and loved it. Its hilarious and emotional at the same time. And, the guys are all cute. If you have missed it, I would really suggest you to go and watch it right away. The full movie is available on youtube. This is the link for the movie and I am embedding a clip which talks about girl temperament when girls are not even PMSing πŸ˜€ Do watch it.

How often should you change your pads? {Your Opinion}

Swati · December 5, 2011 · 12 Comments

Ok, so I would like to ask all of you a question today. During the period days, how often do you change your pads?
The reason I am asking is from two concerns – hygiene and blood flow. Now, some people suffer from excessive blood flow for which they have to change the pads very frequently. But, what about the hygiene aspect? Well, you are getting so many awesome products in the market which give complete protection lasting up to a day also. BUT, even if your blood flow is not heavy, the dry blood in the pad acts as a stimulant for bacterial growth and there is a certain type of bacteria which causes vaginal infection so you should change the pads once in every 4-6 hours so as to avoid the infection.Also share your opinions on:
How many products do you layer on your face?
How long do you leave the conditioner?
Is Vanity Silly?
Hair Mask first or Conditioner?
Budgeting on Shopping
Face Mask Sheets or Face Masks?
