My Hair Dairies – April 2012

My hair in April - Perfect Skin Care for you
What I did in April?
  • Regarding the use of Rosemary EO for three months since January, I have not really got any evidence but I do believe that it has really helped my hair texture and probably helped in hair growth too.
  • I did add ginger and cinnamon EO to my hair oil this month. But, had to discontinue using it since I started on with a treatment.
  • I gave myself a hair cut to get rid of the split ends. I did cut off a good amount of length and my hair is again back to the shoulder level πŸ™ but, then, I had to get rid of splits too.
  • Went on a hair treatment which I mentioned couple of days back.
Products Used
  • Shampoo – Pantene Total Damage Care Shampoo + Kamini’s Keshika Herbal Shampoo
  • Treatment – Kamini’s Keshika Herbal Hair Tonic
  • Conditioner – Liz Earle Botanical Shine Treatment + L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Hair Masque + Kamini’s Keshika Milk Tonic
  • Hair Oil – Biotique Flame of the Forest + Kamini’s Keshika Herbal Hair Oil
  • Hair Mask – Egg + Kamini’s Keshika Multi-Herb Mix
Second Week Results of the Hair Treatment
  • Hair definitely seems to be more shiny.
  • In fact, the hair coloring job which I wasn’t pretty satisfied with, is showing well now. Though, I am definitely not loving the color πŸ™ I really want to use Lush Caca Maroon!!! I have a gut feeling I will soon do that πŸ˜€

My Hair Diary – March 2012

Swati · April 3, 2012 · 5 Comments

What did I do in March?
  • I have been using Rosemary EO since two months. As to how much its working, I am still unsure but I do definitely think its helping but as I said earlier, its too soon to say anything definite.
  • And, as I promised in my last post, I did research on the essential oils to stimulate hair growth so some of the essential oils I have added to the stack are: Ginger, Cinnamon, Cedarwood, Lavender and Patchouli.
  • Also, I got cocoa butter for myself because I wanted to use it as a hair mask to soften my hair and keep it moisturised as a weekly treatment.
  • So, I made myself a DIY mask adding hair oil to the cocoa butter but its been two times I have used, the mask so I am not sure how well it is working. So, when I spend a little more time using this mask, I shall post its recipe too πŸ™‚
  • Also, I would add a word about both the oils I am using – Biotique and Kama. They are both amazing and really good. I shall publish the reviews after I finish with the product but this is just a word on them.
  • And, my split ends have grown to huge extent so I gave myself a hair cut in March and again, I shall do it today. Yes, I can trim my hair on my own πŸ™‚ It saves a lot of money and hair length too :O
Products used in March
  • Shampoo – Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo
  • Conditioner + Leave-in Treatment – Sunsilk Dual Treatment Shots

My Hair Diaries – February 2012

Swati · February 28, 2012 · 13 Comments

So, the second month is over and I am putting down my second entry in my hair diaries journal. I didn’t try out any DIY or any hardcore deep conditioning treatment coz I am too lazy. But, some product probably saved my hair.
What did I do in February?
  • Ok, I added rosemary EO to the shampoo to give it a nice twist and see how would the results turn out. So far, its fine but nothing extra-ordinary.
  • Now, you would also be interested in how rosemary EO worked for me which I mentioned in my last month’s hair diary. I have not seen any major improvement or anything but to be honest, it’s a little soon to say anything as hair always takes time to show any difference.
  • Also, I heard that cinnamon is amazing in increasing blood circulation so I was thinking of getting its EO. And, I would be researching more on the EO’s good for hair and would be reporting back.
  • And, I did regular oil treatments, not even hot. That was the limit to my hair care routine. I know I gotta try harder to reach my goal!!!
  • Btw, my hair is already developing split ends. I know why? Because, my hair had been uncut for a long time and the hair cut last month had not been more than a little trim and style change so I gotta trim my hair a little regularly till all the split ends are resolved.
Products Used
  • Shampoo – Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo
  • Conditioner – Liz Earle Hair Treatment Mask + Wella Kolestint after-color Shine Treatment (only twice or thrice)
  • Leave-in Treatment – Biotique Bio Almond & Cashew Fresh Replenishing Serum + Dove Nourishing Oil Care Vita Oil Serum + The Body Shop Polynesian Monoi Oil
  • Hair Oil – Biotique Flame of the Forest + Kama Ayurveda Brigandi
  • Combs – The Body Shop Detangling Comb, Lass Cosmetics Neem Wood Comb, The Body Shop Wooden Quill Brush
So, guys, any tips which I should use???Β

My Hair Diaries – January 2012

Swati · January 24, 2012 · 10 Comments

Hopefully, you have read the “About Me” page I had put up a few days back and are aware of all my complaints with my hair. I was thinking that I shall maintain an online monthly journal entry in which I shall catalog my entire month’s hair care routine – all products I use, all my DIY’s related to hair and everything I do to my hair.

My Goal – ” To keep my hair soft and making it more shiny and trying to keep it conditioned and hydrated as much as possible.”
What did I do in January?
  • My hair had become pretty much rough and sun-exposed and had not be subjected to a trim since almost 4 months, I had to get a hair cut. So, I went ahead and got that done. I didn’t really lose a lot of length but the cut makes my crown look more full.
  • I incorporated Rosemary Essential Oil in my hair care routine. If you are not already aware, Rosemary Essential Oil is very helpful in promoting hair growth. I add the Essential Oil to my hair oil. 3 drops per treatment. I do try to do the Hot Oil Treatment but never quite succeed so I just heat up my oil a bit and apply it to my scalp and cover my hair with a shower cap to preserve a little heat.
  • Shampoo – Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo which keeps my hair soft and doesn’t dry my hair.
  • Conditioner – Wella Kolestint after-color Shine Treatment
  • Leave-in Treatment – Biotique Bio Almond & Cashew Fresh Replenishing Serum + Dove Nourishing Oil Care Vita Oil Serum
  • Hair Oil – Groundnut Oil + Apricot Oil (homemade blend)
  • Combs – The Body Shop Detangling Comb, Lass Cosmetics Neem Wood Comb, The Body Shop Wooden Quill Brush
  • DIY – Homemade Green Tea Hair Spray
  • I always sleep on satin pillows. It allows the hair to glide easily and doesn’t suck out the moisture out of the hair.
  • I simply ignored the deep conditioning πŸ™
Hope this helps πŸ™‚
