L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+ Update {Product Review}

Swati · March 24, 2015 · 2 Comments

Lโ€™Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+

Hah! It has been over two months since I have been using the product. And, it is time to give an update. Though, I have covered most of the things in the extended review I did on the product almost a month back, there are just a few things I would like to cover.

Usage

In the last post, if you recall or have read it again, I have mentioned that I could not really figure out how to use the product. So, finally, I figured it out after lots of trials and errors.

Spot apply mustard-seed size product all over your face – forehead, nose, cheeks, chin. And, spread it evenly on the face. That’s it! Most likely you would NOT need more of the product. So, the jar is going to last very very long for you!!

Perfect for Summer

Now that summers have already started raging in Hyderabad, I can feel that this product is perfect to control the sweat and oil. But, then, remember do not go overboard with the product otherwise it will leave white streaks on your skin. And, it keeps the skin looking bright for at least two hours and you can reapply it after that ๐Ÿ™‚

Works for a foundation

Unless you want heavy coverage, this product works perfectly as your makeup base. It has a slight tint which makes your face glow, makes the lip color or lip tints pop up and gives a perfect natural makeup look with a soft dewy face. And, it is easy to reapply ๐Ÿ™‚

Does not work for eye

The product does mention that eye contour should be avoided and do heed it. Otherwise, the product cakes up in the eye area.

It is a Day Cream!

For everyone who is confused about this part, the product is ONLY a day cream and meant to be used in the morning time and HAS to be removed with a makeup remover, since it has a tint, at the end of day. And, follow with an anti-aging serum or facial oil.

What do you say?

That’s about it and I think it perfectly rounds up my thoughts regarding the product. So, what do you say now? It is your turn so do share.
– Would you like to use the product?
– Have you already used it? If yes, how did you like it?
– What do you think of the anti-aging skin care ranges in the market? Did anyone work for you?

Do share your opinions in the comments below ๐Ÿ™‚

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+ {Product Review}

Swati · February 15, 2015 · 10 Comments

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+ Product Review

Few days back, I had asked you to guess the products. And, yes, you were right. The range is L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect which has come up with different solutions for different ages.

Now that you might have also seen the ads on the television, I can share with you my experience with the product! Since I touched 29 this month itself, I was quite confused as to which age range should I pick up. And, then, I settled for 30+ as my skin was getting too dry due to the winters.

And, then, finally Mr. P settled to feel younger by choosing the 20+ range and I settled for the 30+ considering the winter wreaking havoc on my skin. After all the anti-aging range is more moisturising.

Update: Btw, I was not aware that it is a women-specific range before sharing it with my better half! So, beware all the gals before you recommend it to your sweethearts and better-halves. Also, please do check out how does men’s skin differ from women.

Specifications First

  • Price: Starting at Rs 99
  • Availability: L’Oreal Paris outlets and kiosks.
  • Packaging: The cream comes in a wide-mouthed glass jar but the white really falls flat. A pop of color would have brought elegance to the packaging.
  • Fragrance: My pet peeve of strong smelling products still holds. The fragrance of the product is not really strong but stays a long time so it does effect one who has a sensitive nose. But, it might prove to be quite pleasant for some.
  • Texture: The cream is creamy in consistency and not really thick. Spreads easily.

Skin Perfect Range Claims

Usage and Results

As 30+ product claims, it does give smoother and brighter skin.

But, there is one issue with the product! The application. Though the texture of the product is creamy and easily spread-able, it does not blend well into the skin. In fact, I could not figure out how to easily blend it. So, one has to be able to use the product very judicially.

Only pea size dot is enough to cover the face and another for the neck. Anything more leaves white streaks on the skin. And, I do not think it blends well on damp skin so make sure your skin is dry. And, same is the case if you are trying to layer this product with any other.

On the positive note, I have to say that it controls the oil very well. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, I settled for the 30+ also because I felt 20+ range to be a bit dry for my skin so may be you need different formulations for different weather conditions. And, the effects of the cream last up to 2 hours easily. I would definitely suggest to reapply your moisturising cream after a duration to maintain hydration levels in your skin.

As to its claims on spot reductions, I can not really say anything as I do not have such issues!

My Verdict

Finally, I would like to say that it is a good cream and I am sure it will be a savior in the summers.

So, it is a yes if you really want soft and smoother and brighter skin instantly. And, Mr. P totally endorses it ๐Ÿ˜€

So, what do you say? Would you love to check out the product? Have you already used or bought it ? How did you like it? Do share!

A new product on the block – a Preview!

Swati · February 7, 2015 · 2 Comments

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect product preview

So, last month, I was sent this really chic package with couple of products for different age groups. It is a basically a customized skin care line for different age groups depending on their skin quality and needs. And, first impressions are last impressions. The packaging is very interesting!

Who used the products?

Yes, I shall keep the products as a surprise for you all to guess. But, we can start with what we felt in the initial usage. I used one age group product and gave Mr. P the other one. And, the last one I gave to my dad!

How did we feel?

So, let me say that Mr. P loved the product. He says it brings a glow on the face and yes it does! This stands true for both the products we tried.

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect product preview

My dad has not yet got back with his opinion because he looks more for wrinkle removal than the even tone and fairness part. But, yup, even his face did glow ๐Ÿ˜€

So, I shall return with the entire product review sometime next week. Till then, keep guessing which product is it?? Do share in the comments below!

My Hair Diaries – November 2012

Swati · December 5, 2012 · 16 Comments

My Hair Diary at Perfect Skin Care for you
is my hair looking rough or is it the lighting??? I washed it without using conditioner but my hair is damn soft to touch even if its not looking like that!!

Oh my gosh!! I can’t really believe the year is coming to an end and yeah, I know I am gonna bore you with the countdown. I don’t know why but something is in the air and its exciting and its making me happy even without me knowing what’s there!!

Yeah, I am really weird!! So, lets cut the crap and proceed with my hair diary. Honestly, I am very happy with my hair this year and the way I have maintained my journal. I hope it has been of help to you as well.
What did I do in November?

  • No DIY – Honestly, I have not done any DIY on my hair in terms of hair masks and I have mostly used all kinds of products on my hair but these days, its so soft and heavenly to touch. I truly love my hair with all its faults.
  • DIET – Ok, one thing which has helped my hair is DIET. Very, very important to eat properly. I am not on a weight-loss regime and I haven’t started eating healthy. If you remember, I had mentioned that my diet had suffered a lot last year and it showed on my face, my body and my hair as well. Yes, it is very important to eat healthy and breakfast is important. I shall do a post separately on it.
  • Hair Cuts – Another thing is I have had a lot of hair cuts this year. One very important observation I have made is that I have had a lot of split ends this year even with regular hair cuts. The only difference between this year and last year is the homemade hair masks and deep conditioning treatments I had done on my hair. So, I can positively say that JUST oiling and regularly conditioning and using an SLS free shampoo is not gonna help your hair at all. Deep conditioning and homemade hair masks do help. Since, I haven’t used any professional salon range products, I can’t say if they help or not.
  • I have started to use Jojoba and Grapeseed oil for hair growth but its been just two or three times I have used so obviously can’t say!!
  • I have been very regular this month with oiling and washing regime both in Delhi and Hyderabad. I have been using more or less many products on the hair but it hasn’t suffered ๐Ÿ™‚

Products Used

  • Hair Oil – Auravedic Restructuring Hair Oil + Kamini Hair Oil + Mom made + The Body Shop Polynesian Monoi Oil
  • Shampoo – Kamini Shampoo
  • Conditioner – L’Oreal Total Repair 5 + Liz Earle Botanical Shine Treatment + Dove Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner

I used Kamini hair oil and mom made oil at Delhi and finished Auravedic one this month and before last wash this month, I used Polynesian Monoi Oil (review coming soon). I am totally loving Kamini shampoo, in fact!!

My Hair Diary at Perfect Skin Care for you
this time I used the conditioner and leave-in as well and that’s my messy side-braid night look ๐Ÿ˜€

It really keeps my hair soft and prevents dryness. And, not loving the conditioner but finishing it ๐Ÿ™ I am also starting to use the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Serum from this month.

How are Rich Feel products? {Your Opinion}

Swati · September 16, 2012 · 18 Comments

So, have you heard of the brand? Apparently, it is a herbal brand and as far as I can recall, I do think I have heard of the brand but can’t recall. So, I want to ask you if you have heard any reviews of the brand or used them? Please do put in your views.
The reason I am asking is coz I pampered myself with a hair growth hair spa today. And, they used the rich feel products. They were supposed to use L’Oreal professional but suddenly changed it to this one. I am skeptical about herbal products, no doubt!!! So, would love to hear your views ๐Ÿ™‚

Hair Spa for Dandruff {Hair Care}

Swati · July 9, 2012 · 1 Comment

The reason I am doing more posts on dandruff these days is because I have ignored this issue for long as I never faced it and these days I am getting more inspirations on the issue. So, I was talking a few days back with a girl and she told me what helped with her dandruff. She has had an issue of severe dandruff since she was in 10th and she has taken numerous treatments, none of which had worked.
So, as a last resort she went for L’Oreal Hair Spa. And, she has taken around a month of the sittings. The L’Oreal Hair Spa was used with the dandruff treatment ampules. But, she initially did not see any improvement. But, after one month of no change and after leaving the treatment, she gradually noticed the changes in her hair and scalp and found that the entire dandruff issue had disappeared.
I wanted to share this in case if anyone has the issue and is tired of going through all the treatments, they can give the L’Oreal Hair Spa treatment a try. The entire service costed my friend around 8k (the whole package, not each sitting) with every sitting lasting about an hour to hour and a half. She, in fact, asked me to get a hair spa done for my hair as it really helped her hair (even the texture) and she is using the L’Oreal range of products only (meant for dandruff).

My Hair Diaries – June 2012

Swati · July 3, 2012 · 12 Comments

that’s my hair last month after the treatment

Verdict on the Kamini Hair Treatment

Well, the results are, as far as I can notice, positive. I have noticed my hair line on the crown become fuller and my hair is definitely more shiny and really soft which I am absolutely loving. But, I still need to work on the weighing down issues. Now, regarding the volume, I really wish my hair would grow overnight but since that doesn’t happen except for Rapunzel, I need to wait and watch!!!
Current Routine
this is my hair after leaving the treatment this week

My mom said that we should check it out for 6 months before finalizing. But, now, I have temporarily stopped the treatment because I wanted to see if I follow the same routine with over-the-counter products, will I get the same results. So, I have started using the Aloe Veda Herbal Oil but continuing with the ginger tonic and the shampoo. Right now, I am using L’Oreal Total Repair 5 hair mask as a conditioner and Dove Nourishing Oil Serum as a leave-in serum.

So far, I have been using the changed routine for the past one week and the one thing which I was afraid of was that sudden change from the treatment might result in hair fall. Thankfully, that did not happen. And, even now, my hair is extremely soft and shinier but the shine is lot less as compared to the treatment oil which was amazing!!! So, that was my hair this month. Let’s hope I have positive things to say about the Aloe Veda oil as well.
