Sephora Hand Mask Gloves – Aloevera

Swati · June 4, 2019 · 1 Comment

sephora aloevera hand mask, sephora hand gloves, moisturizing gloves

Last week has been real crazy with my brother’s wedding, hence the missing posts! So, while shopping for the wedding, I visited Sephora for first time in Hyderabad. Their overnight hair mask was the one which interested me and I picked these sephora hand mask gloves along. You might have heard me cribbing about my extremely cracked and damaged skin on the fingers. I thought may be some moisturizing gloves might be helpful.

Sephora Hand Mask Gloves infused with Aloevera Product Review

Price : Rs 450 for one pair

Availability : Sephora shops and Sephora online

My Review

Well, the first thing I thought about this product was “damn! it’s really expensive”. Who wants to buy a one time use mask for 400 bucks? Anyways, I got the sephora hand mask gloves and the overnight hair mask, though in retrospect buying another pair of gloves would have been a better use for my money.

The pouch contains a pair of sephora hand mask gloves and there is no serum in the pouch as you would find in a face mask. The serum is present inside the gloves. You just have to put them on your hands and sit. The product specifies 20 minutes but I would recommend as long as possible though it does get tiring!

When you put on the sephora hand mask gloves, you would feel nothing actually but then about 2-4 minutes later, you can feel the serum around your fingers. I initially thought the quantity of the serum was very less but I do not think that is strictly true! The serum probably melts with your body heat or something like that.

I kept on the hand mask gloves for probably 30 minutes and there was still a lot of serum left inside so I passed on the gloves to my husband. He kept it on for probably 10 minutes and still there was a little bit of the serum left. I decided to store the gloves for another use, just in case. After removing the gloves, I massaged in whatever serum was on my hand.

My hands were really moisturized, my cuticles looked amazing, the cracks on the skin had softened to touch and they looked brighter. Actually, my hands look a lot dull and dark, probably from the lack of hydration rather than moisturization. And, the sephora hand mask gloves really brightened them. Same goes for my husband who does not use anything at all on his skin.

And, just today, I put the gloves on just for 5 minutes to see if there was any serum left. It is almost over, might last for one more use of 5 minutes. My hands looked instantly brighter, cuticles were moisturized and nails were shinier. Boy, they are amazing for a quick pickup. In fact, instead of keeping them for 15 minutes at one go, you can get multiple uses of 5 minutes each.

Overall, I think sephora hand mask gloves are an amazing product if you do not get regular manicures and your hands just never look pretty. Yes, it is expensive but if I am planning to use it once a week for 5 minutes, I guess it will last me almost one and a half month which is a little less expensive, let’s say! But, yes, you should definitely try it out.

Have you used any hand mask gloves?

They have them in different variants. Have you tried out any? Avocado sounds interesting since it is heavy on nourishment. I shall definitely try them out when I am in a mood to splurge. In the mean time, you could ask someone to get them from US at 5$ a piece. Which variant is your favorite?

Till then, Swathy.

How to take care of dry and damaged hands?

Swati · March 15, 2018 · Leave a Comment

dry and damaged hands, hand care
My Hand Care Arsenal

Have you ever observed how doing anything can damage our hands? Right from doing chores around the house to excessive water exposure to round the clock typing from mobiles to laptops. All result in the same – dry and damaged hands. And, they get worse if you are the one handling the menial chores of your house from dusting to washing utensils to laundry with all detergents being equally harsh. Makes sense to go eco-friendly, no? Or, I would rather call it skin-friendly!

One day while doing my household work, one of my fingers started bleeding. That was when I realized how cruelly I was ignoring to take care of my dry and damaged hands. Adding to that is the bad habit of washing my hands frequently. There is a specific term for it but let me just say this habit is categorized under Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. So, before you go down the same road I did, I would plead the case of your finger tips with you.

Exfoliate your dry and damaged hands with sugar twice to thrice a week. Use the squeezed lemon, if available. Nothing works better.

Excess Water Exposure

Do not wet your hands too much. More your hands get wet, the drier they become. And, we are not even talking about the dish washing liquids or hand wash which are way too harsh on your skin.

Loving / Using It Vol. 5 – Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Swati · September 1, 2014 · 4 Comments

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Hey Guys!! I know I have been absconding for too long now. In fact, it has been almost one year since I have been more or less ignoring the blog 🙁 But, last three months have been a roller coaster ride with way too many changes in my routine! Will share all the details slowly with you.

And, in all of that mess, I totally ignored my responsibilities. This review has been so long pending that I am sure the brand people would have given up on me. But, I have been using this product since last two months. It is so portable, for one. So, lets check out why I like it.

Loving / Using It : Loving It

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

  • Price. Rs 55 for 10ml. Extremely affordable.
  • Travel-friendly. You can carry it in your travel bag or purse wherever you go and apply it whenever you want!! It does not even leak.
  • Easy to Use. Its roller tip makes it extremely easy to use and ensures a topical application.
  • Not Oily. It gets absorbed easily and does not leave any greasiness behind.
  • Smells fresh. Leaves behind a very refreshing lemongrass aroma.
  • Moisturizes really well. This product made my cuticles and nails so soft as opposed to any body cream I have used regularly. It also prevents the skin near the nails from peeling off.
  • Multi-purpose. The best part of this product is that you can use it for anything –  a hand cream or as a lip balm or even as an emergency moisturizer.
  • Ingredient List not specified. The one thing which I did not appreciate is that there is no list of ingredients written on the packaging. It only provides the active ingredient list.

Overall Verdict
I wish the brand had provided the entire ingredient list so as to make sure whether the product is completely herbal or not. But, the product is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Baviphat Paprika Whitening Hand Cream {Product Review}

Swati · July 18, 2011 · 6 Comments

Baviphat is a very popular brand in Malaysia and Singapore and Korea too. Its a Korean company. So, this was one of the goodies I won in a giveaway I mentioned sometime back. I have no idea about the price or ingredients list coz my pack didn’t mention any.

My Experience

I love the small yellow capsicum tub and the smell of this cream is even more awesome though I can’t really describe it. I have never used a hand cream before so I am not gonna give a comparison account but I’ll say that it is very non-sticky and gets easily absorbed into the skin. I hate the creams which make my hand sticky and almost all do that so I avoid applying any cream and I am used to often washing my hands. Its a phobia with me but since I have started using this cream, my hands are comparatively softer and don’t get dried up as they used to. And, this cream also moisturizes my nails and cuticles. So, yup, this one is a great product but unfortunately not available in India. But, they do have a website but its in Korean!!! Check it out here.

My Recommendation
Oh!! yes, definitely!!! And, I guess its a drug store brand so its not outrageously expensive or something.
