5 Minutes to Get Rid of Dark Circles

PSCfy Partner · May 16, 2016 · 1 Comment

reduce dark circles

Right from days of late night studies to late night partying and hanging out to caring for babies at odd times, dark circles are a constant companion at different stages of life.

Getting rid of them is definitely not easy but a little perseverance and discipline helps reduce them in the long run. No doubt you must sleep a little more if you are skimping on it. Also, drink loads of water to keep your skin hydrated and fresh all time.

Why do we get Dark Circles ?

Nutritional Deficiencies

Lack of iron, potassium, folic acid, vitamin A, C and E can also causes dark circles.

In fact, the lack of these nutrients can enhance the darkness of your already existing blemishes. Eating a balanced and proper diet, especially rich in varied fruits and vegetables as opposed to carbohydrates, is very important.

Do you wear glasses?

If you have been wearing glasses for a long time, you would naturally have a bit of darkness around your eyes. The glasses help in darkening the skin by allowing strong sun rays to pass through them.

Overall, it is difficult to lighten the area as the damage is being done regularly. Instead, you must focus on keeping the eyes moist and bright by regularly lubricating them.

How to Treat Dark Circles?

Eye Drops and Lubrication

To draw away the attention from your panda eyes, draw attention to your eyes. Make sure they look clear and bright.

Wash eyes regularly with cold water.

Lubricate your eyes using eye drops.

Prevent staring at laptop and mobile for long time and blink often.

Avoid using  eye liners or kajals which create shade around the eyes.

The 5 Minute Routine

There are loads of home remedies on how to remove dark circles. But, I have a specific and very simple routine which I absolutely love.

  • Wash your face. Using a deep cleanser every day whether you apply makeup or not is a good idea. Cleanse your face and neck and pat it dry.
  • Take a slice of potato and rub it all around your eyes in light circular motions. You can do the same for your face and neck. Let the skin dry for 2 minutes. Wash off with cold water.
  • Follow with a small drop of Vitamin E oil or almond oil. Almond Oil is rich in vitamin E and has much lighter consistency than Vitamin E. Pat the oil in a thin layer all around your eyes using ring finger in light motion. If necessary, follow with an eye cream.

And, you are done!

You should definitely notice changes in 15 days. But, a word of caution here. Dark Circles can be genetic and not treatable so any remedy which you use for them is at max a temporary solution.

If something works for you, keep doing it at regular intervals to ensure results otherwise your eyes would come back to normal. The same goes for skin as well.
