Since my wedding, I have been in search of an anti-allergic sindoor product. All the local brands including shringar and another brand which starts with letter ‘k’ were basically making my entire forehead itch horribly. So, I decided to give the bigger brands a try. So, let us check out whether they fixed my problem.
Lakme Jewel Sindoor
Price : Rs 125
As you can see, it is maroon and a bit glittery. It comes with a long sponge applicator which makes it easy to apply as a bindi on the forehead as well. And, the color shade is perfect and goes with all colors and styles. It has been almost a year since I got this product and it has dried up a bit.
Lotus Herbals Divine Dew Herbal Sindoor
Price : ~ Rs 120
Unfortunately, the sales girl sold me a wrong color. This one is not maroon in color but rather more fluorescent red which really does not go well with all the clothes and styles. I think this variation is Love Drop.
And, it also comes with a long handled sponge applicator which is a bit too long and has a wider tip so if you want to apply it as a bindi on the forehead, it comes too big if you are not careful.
I bought this one easily about 7-8 months back and still the product is fine in texture and has not dried up at all.
Did either of them suit me?
And, to add to this, both of these products did not suit my skin. After applying them for a few hours, my forehead starts to itch right exactly at the spot where I apply bindi. But, it does not always itch on the partition where I apply it as the sindoor so I am quite confused as to why my forehead itches so badly that I scratch out the bindi.
In fact, my forehead developed small boils when I was married due to the excess application of kumkum at that time! Till date, no kumkum really suited my skin. I wish there was a natural alternative available for this product!!
