Best way to deal with Dandruff?? {DIY}

Swati · July 5, 2012 · 23 Comments

So, yes, I know most of you are facing this problem right now or would be in the coming subsequent months of August-September depending on when monsoons hit your town. So, be armed with this simple DIY to get rid of dandruff.

Ingredients
  • Apple Cider Vinegar / Fruit Vinegar / Vinegar
  • Water
Method
Add 2 tablespoon water and 1 tablespoon vinegar in a bowl and take a cotton and apply it to your scalp half hour before you shampoo your hair. To avoid dryness (vinegar is acidic so drying for scalp), you can apply this treatment on well-oiled hair. Do this every time you are going to shampoo. This helps with long standing issues of dandruff too.
Remember the Kamini aunty treatment? Yes, it involves this ginger hair tonic which I had told you was ginger infused in vinegar. My mom has even prepared the dupe for it πŸ˜€ We are calling it dupe coz the actual treatment might have other additives. I shall share it soon πŸ™‚ Till then, let this treatment help ya!!

      next time, you use it, make sure you dilute it!!! don’t use it concentrated….it shouldn’t be used directly on skin or hair!!!

      whoa!!! that’s bad!! then, I think that kamini treatment is way more diluted i guess coz it makes my eyes water and sting a bit but not that blinding sting!!!
      btw, where do you use ACV??

    Hi Swati..

    I have execessive Oily hair.Every 2 days i need to shampoo my greasy hairs.If i shampoo today, 2 days later my hairs become v.oily automatically and the scalp becomes v.itchy and starts developing dandruff like white flakes. Please guide what would be done for Oily Scalp and to reduce the Thinness if Hair ??

    I would be v.grateful to you if your Tips are helpful.

      i would suggest you to ash your hair on alternate days….its safe for hair as well. excess of oiliness leads to dry scalp and dandruff so you need to keep the scalp clean. and, you can apply henna on your hair to control the oil.
      for hair growth, you can check the hair growth section in hair care on categories page (on top of the page in navigation bar).

      but, make sure that these remedies do not interfere with your treatment at batras so ask the trichologist for confirmation!!

      hi Swathi. postpartum hair loss is very common. do not worry much about it. be happy and enjoy with your baby. after a few months, everything would settle down. in the meantime, just be sure you take healthiest and balanced meals. hope this helps πŸ™‚
