How long do you leave the conditioner? {Tip of the Day}

November 14, 2011 Swati 2 Comments

Ok, so hair care routines are not very easy to follow and varies from person to person depending on their hair types and textures but I really would like to get an idea on certain topics which keep me confused and this is one of them? How do you know how long should you keep the conditioner on?Well, here is what I do? Squeeze out all the water by gently pressing the hair after shampooing it. You can use a cotton cloth if you want so as to remove the excess water. Now, apply conditioner from the level of your ears and cover the length of the hair and concentrate on the ends. Keep the conditioner for 5-7 minutes instead of just applying and washing it out. After 5 minutes, you can wash out the conditioner. But, if I am using a hair mask too, I like to keep the hair mask for around 5-7 minutes and wash out the conditioner in just 1-2 minutes.

My journey to holistic living really began with a fetish for skin care products which developed into an obsession of reading every article about skin and hair on the internet. The amount of information and knowledge I had gathered in my research prompted me to start my own blog eight years back and I am still contributing my observations and curating my comprehension to my benefit and other’s opinions. Actually, for thinner hair types, leaving the conditioner for less than 5 minutes is enough. Probably 3 min max. The conditioner can be absorbed easily because it comes into better contact with the scalp.
