Books
Anti-Aging Beauty Secrets book starts with a, not so boringly technical, biological description of what does it really mean by aging. What happens to skin when we age, how does it happen, what are the various signs. Then, it goes on to describe a 10-step plan to start an anti-aging regime and an anti-aging diet. Food is, as you know that I have repeatedly stressed on it, an important part of how you look. The most interesting aspect of the book comes where it goes on to talk about the anti-aging secrets from all around the world. Then, comes a focused chapter on Ayurveda. Following all these preliminary chapters comes the chapter you would waiting desperately by now, the categorical recipes – anti-aging cleansers, exfoliators, toner, face masks, lip balms, eye serums, eye masks all of which are healing as well as nourishing. Not only that, they also contain detoxifying recipes for cleansing of the body. There are two bonus chapters. The first one gives a secret recipe of eyelash and eyebrow growth serum. This is actually the first recipe used bu Leon while she was experimenting on herself. Second chapter talks about the importance of yoga on our beauty and lists some facial exercises for specific needs like plumping up the lips, firm and wrinkle free skin, erasing laugh and forehead lines and getting sleek and lean cheeks among others.
The second book on Organic Eye Care becomes more biological and not so boringly either which is one of the best points of Leon’s books. It mainly talks of the nutritional deficiencies and how can they affect the skin around the eyes which is very interesting in itself. This itself solves most of our problems. The book also explains a need of specialized eye care products which are different from other body and face products. Then, goes on to recipes for various problems like dark circles creams, anti-wrinkles creams and even tells you of the oils which can be used for each problem if you do not want to use the creams. It gives a thorough ingredient breakup to tell what each one of them do and what can be skipped in your own case. A bonus chapter talks about a skin brightening soap which is very simple to make.
